What are Chandelier Lights?

A chandelier is a suspended light with branches for several bulbs or candles. This light fixture is designed to be mounted on ceilings or walls. Chandeliers are often decorative and usually use incandescent light bulbs. Now a days, new designs also use fluorescent lamps and LEDs.

Larger and heavier chandeliers may require additional ceiling support. What Should Be Considered When Choosing Chandelier Lights?

There are three main factors to consider, apart from style, when choosing a chandelier: size/scale, direction of light output (glare versus glitter), and control (dimming).

Consider the following points when choosing a chandelier.

• Decide where you need to install the chandelier
• Determine the right size/scale of the chandelier. The chandelier diameter is determined by first measuring the length and width of the room in feet and then taking the sum in inches for the diameter of the chandelier.
• Measure the height of the room as well before going to buy a chandelier.
• Decide what kind of light do you want from a chandelier. Should it be soft or glary?
• Also decide on the direction of light- upward or downward.
• Another factor to consider for a chandelier is the dimming feature of the bulbs.
• Pick a style for chandelier that matches the room.
• Chandeliers with IP rating of 20 should not be used in outdoor spaces or damp spaces like kitchen or the bathroom as they are only suited for indoor and dry spaces.

Earlier chandeliers used incandescent bulbs, but now a days, chandeliers are designed to use CFLs and /or LEDs. Incandescent bulbs consume a lot of energy whereas, LEDs are very energy efficient, they save considerable amount of energy in the long run. So, in order to save energy, one should used chandeliers with LEDs.

What are Chandelier Lights Colours?

The outer part of the Chandelier Lighting comes in different materials and colours. The materials could be metallic, wooden or glass and depending on the material the colour varies. As for the light emitted from a chandelier lighting, it depends on the bulb used. If incandescent bulbs are used they will give out a warm yellowish light. CFLs give a natural white light. On the other hand, if Smart LEDs are used then one can choose from the unlimited colours emitted from them.
